ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a scintillation camera system for use in positron imaging in which radiation scattered in an object under study is screened and Compton events, as well as primary radiation, are imaged. The scattered radiation is masked from the scintillation detectors with a uniform graded absorption shield to allow a plurality of separate acceptable ranges of radioactive energy to be defined so that the Compton events are utilized in image formation.
