Post-compaction treatments of iron compacts to improve the mechanical strength of the compacts are provided. Powder is compacted into the desired part. The part is then subjected to a strengthening operation. This operation involves a heat treatment at a moderate temperature combined with an optional resin impregnation. The heattreatment is done at a temperature sufficient to increase the mechanical properties of the compact while maintaining the magnetic losses low for the required application. Impregnation with an insulating binder can be effected to increase the mechanical strength of the part without creating electric contacts between the powder particles.
Des traitements post-briquetage des briquettes de fer pour améliorer la résistance mécanique des briquettes sont offerts. La poudre est compactée pour former l'objet recherché. L'objet est ensuite soumis à une étape de renforcement. Cette étape comporte un traitement thermique à une température modérée combiné à une imprégnation facultative de résine. Le traitement thermique est effectué à une température suffisante pour augmenter les propriétés mécaniques de la briquette tout en maintenant les pertes magnétiques à un faible niveau pour l'application voulue. L'imprégnation avec un liant isolant peut être effectuée pour accroître la résistance mécanique de l'objet sans créer de contacts électriques entre les particules de poudre.
