Post mold cooling apparatus and method having transverse movement preferably includes structure and/or steps for cooling a plurality of plastic articles molded on a row of mold cores. A post mold cooling device is provided having (i) a first row of cooling tubes configured to hold a first plurality of the molded plastic articles, and (ii) a second row of cooling tubes configured to hold a second plurality of the molded plastic articles. A cooling station is disposed adjacent the cooling device and is configured to provide a cooling fluid to an interior of both the first and second pluralities of molded articles inside the respective first and second rows of cooling tubes. Movement structure is configured to (i) provide a rotational movement to cause the first and second pluralities of molded articles inside the respective first and second rows of cooling tubes to be presented to the cooling station, and (ii) provide a transverse, axial movement to alternately cause the first row of cooling tubes and then the second row of cooling tubes to be presented to the row of mold cores.

Il est prévu un dispositif de refroidissement après moulage (30), comprenant (i) une première rangée de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49) configurés pour supporter une première pluralité d'articles moulés en matière plastique, et (ii) une seconde rangée de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49) configurés pour supporter une seconde pluralité d'articles moulés en matière plastique. Un poste de refroidissement (42) est prévu adjacent au dispositif de refroidissement et est configuré pour envoyer un fluide de refroidissement à l'intérieur des premières et secondes pluralités d'articles moulés, à l'intérieur, respectivement, des premières et secondes rangées de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49). Une structure de déplacement est configurée (i) de manière à générer un mouvement de rotation permettant que les premières et secondes pluralités d'articles moulés à l'intérieur, respectivement, des premières et secondes rangées de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49) soient présentées au poste de refroidissement et, (ii) de manière à générer un déplacement axial transversal permettant, qu'alternativement, la première rangée de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49), puis la seconde rangée de tubes de refroidissement (44, 49) soient présentées à la rangée des noyaux de moules (70a, 70b).
