A fence post puller, preferably of metal, is designed for pulling a fence post out of the ground and comprises a foot portion carrying a generally planar base for engagement with the ground when the fence post pillar is placed with its foot portion adjacent to a post to be pulled, an elongated support member attached to the foot and extending upwardly therefrom positioned in close proximity to the post to be pulled, the upper end of which defines a pivot means which acts as fulcrum, a handle pivotal attached to the fulcrum, defining a longer effort arm and a shorter load arm whereby to provide a mechanical advantage between effort and load arms, the load arm defining at its distal end a load link point and, a longitudinal yoke defining at its distal end an annulus adapted to encircle the post, and its proximate end pivotly connected to the load link point whereby of the load effort arm handle downward raises the load arm and pivots the yoke annulus into bearing engagement and contact with the post and pulls the post upward during downward movement of the effort arm.
Arrache-pieux de clôture, de préférence en métal, conçu pour arracher un pieu du sol. Il comporte les éléments suivants : un pied muni d'une base généralement plane conçue pour entrer en contact avec le sol lorsqu'on place l'arrache-pieux à côté du pieu à arracher; un élément de soutien relié au pied et se prolongeant vers le haut en cotoyant de près le pieu à arracher et en faisant agir son extrémité supérieure comme point d'appui; une poignée reliée à ce pivot par une articulation, forme un bras de levier assez long et un bras plutôt court qui reçoit la charge, entre lesquels cette poignée est en mesure d'établir un rapport de multiplication, le bras de chargement formant à son extrémité distale un point de rattachement avec la charge, tandis qu'un étrier longitudinal forme à sa propre extrémité distale un anneau conçu pour enserrer le pieu, son extrémité rapprochée étant reliée par une articulation au point de rattachement à la charge. De cette manière, en abaissant la poignée du bras de levier, on élève le bras de chargement et l'on fait tourner l'anneau de l'étrier pour qu'il prenne appui sur le pieu et pour que, en entrant en contact avec lui, il puisse le tirer vers le haut pendant que le bras de levier se déplace vers le bas.
