POSTAGE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM Abstract of the Disclosure A postage payment authorization system wherein an agency acts as an insurer of postage payment between a mailer and the postal service. A mailer establishes a line of credit with the agency and obtains authorization to process a batch of mail. An authorization number is given to the mailer for the batch of mail by the agency which authorization is communicated to the postal service to authorize the sending of mail.
