ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Potassium chloride build up in the recovery system of a potassium-base pulping process using potassium hydroxide and preferably potassium sulphide as pulping chemicals is avoided by evaporative deposition of solid potassium chloride from potassium chloride-containing solutions formed after furnacing of spent pulping liquor and either before or after causticization of potassium carbonate therein.
