A pothole protection mechanism provides additional support for the vehicle in the event a wheel is driven into a hole while the platform is elevated. The mechanism includes an extendible and retractable pothole protection bar. A five-bar mechanism serves to actuate the pothole protection bar based on a position of the vehicle lifting section. The construction of the mechanism serves to prevent a crushing hazard while deploying the bar and tolerates fixed objects on the ground while raising the bar.

L'invention concerne un mécanisme de protection contre les nids de poule offrant un support additionnel pour le véhicule dans le cas où une roue (14) est entraînée dans un trou pendant l'élévation d'une plateforme (16). Ce mécanisme comprend une barre de protection contre les nids de poule extensible et rétractable (22). Un mécanisme à cinq barres permet d'actionner la barre de protection contre les nids de poule sur la base d'une position de l'unité de levage du véhicule. La structure du mécanisme permet d'éviter un risque d'écrasement pendant le déploiement de la barre, et n'est pas gênée par la présence d'objets fixes sur le sol pendant l'élévation de la barre.
