ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pouring adapter insert for a liquid product container having a substantially vertical outlet neck is described as having a generally cup-like configuration with an open upper end and a substantially closed lower end. The insert also includes a peri- pheral wall connecting the open upper and closed lower ends. The peripheral wall has one or more vertical slots formed therein and intimately contacts the inner surface of the vertical outlet neck. The uppermost portion of each vertical slot is located adjacent the inner surface of the outlet neck, while the balance of the slots extends below the outlet neck and into the body of the container. The insert provides smooth regulated flow of liquid through the outlet neck.
