- 6 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved pouring spout for a can is disclosed. The can has an open end which has a trough around the periphery and which is adapted to receive and retain a can lid. The trough has an inner wall and an outer wall adjoined by a floor. The pouring spout has a pouring portion and a gripping portion. The gripping portion is adapted to be removably attached to the inner wall of the trough by two lips attached to the spout. One of the lips is adapted to grip the trough floor, inside the can, and the other lip is adapted to grip the inner wall at a position distal from the confluence of the inner wall and the trough floor.
