The present invention provides a powder coating composition comprising an intimate mixture of A1) at least one film forming resin binder, B1) 0.1 to 50 wt.%, based on total weight of the powder coating composition, of at least one modified encapsulated titanium dioxide, and C1) optionally, at least one crosslinking agent in an effective amount to cure said powder coating composition wherein the components A1), B1) and C1) are not reacted prior to being mixed together. The present invention provides a powder coating composition which exhibits improved appearance with regard to the coatings, particularly higher DOI (distinctness of image) which relates to reduced orange peel, lower haze and better flow as well as higher adhesion, impact resistance and durability of the coatings.
La composition de revêtement en poudre ci-décrite comprend un mélange intime de A1) au moins un liant à base de résine filmogène, B1) 0,1 à 50 % en poids, rapporté au poids total de la composition, d'au moins un dioxyde de titane modifié encapsulé, et C1) éventuellement, au moins un agent de réticulation dans une quantité efficace pour durcir ladite composition, les composants A1), B1) et C1) n'étant pas mis à réagir avant d'être mélangés. Ladite composition de revêtement en poudre présente une apparence améliorée par rapport à d'autres revêtements, en particulier une meilleure netteté d'image grâce à une réduction de l'effet de peau d'orange et de l'effet de voile et une amélioration de la fluidité, ainsi qu'une augmentation de l'adhérence, de la résistance aux chocs et de la durabilité.
