A method and system are provided for adjusting a discharge width of a powder feeder (10). The system includes a supply hopper (12) that is spaced from the powder feeder. The powder feeder includes a receiving opening (22) and a discharge opening and at least one adjustable wall (26, 28). Preferably, two adjustable walls are provided. Movement of the two adjustable walls provides variations in the width of the discharge opening and therefore facilitates use of the powder feeder on target volumes or target areas having different widths. A rotatable auger brush (18) is in communication with the supply hopper for causing powder withdrawn from the supply hopper to be transported to the powder feeder and disposed uniformly across the receiving opening of the powder feeder. The brush is immersed within the powder and extends across the receiving opening of the powder feeder, and maintains a filled level powder feeder. The powder feeder is particularly well-suited for use in a coating apparatus, as well as dual-side coating apparatus.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé destinés à régler une largeur de distribution d'un dispositif d'alimentation en poudre (10). Le système comprend une trémie d'alimentation (12) disposée à une certaine distance du dispositif d'alimentation en poudre. Le dispositif d'alimentation en poudre comprend une ouverture de réception (22) et une ouverture de distribution ainsi qu'au moins une paroi réglable (26, 28); il comprend, de préférence, deux parois. Le mouvement des deux parois réglables permet de modifier la largeur de l'ouverture de distribution et facilite l'utilisation du dispositif d'alimentation en poudre avec des volumes ou des zones cibles ayant des largeurs différentes. Une brosse à vis rotative (18), reliée à la trémie d'alimentation, sert à transporter la poudre extraite de la trémie d'alimentation en poudre vers le dispositif d'alimentation et à la déposer de manière uniforme le long de l'ouverture de réception du dispositif d'alimentation en poudre. On plonge la brosse dans la poudre puis on la met en travers de l'ouverture de réception du dispositif d'alimentation en poudre; la brosse maintient un niveau de remplissage du dispositif d'alimentation en poudre. Le dispositif d'alimentation en poudre est notamment destiné à être utilisé dans des appareils de formation de revêtement, y compris les appareils de formation de revêtement double face.
