Case 2-12620/AUS 907/- Powdered Carpet Cleaner Abstract of the Disclosure A pulverulent composition for rug and carpet maintenance and cleaning formed by mixing from about 40.0 to 98.5% by weight of borax contai- ning carrier with a primary cleaning system comprising from about 1.0 to 10.0% by weight of an ether alcohol cleaning solvent and from about 0,5 to 10.0% by weight of a surfactant, substantially all of the particles of said composition having a diameter of between 0.06 to 0.44 mm. The composition may contain further ingredients such as an antistatic agent and a fragrance and will be applied by distribu- ting over the carpet surface and into the carpets fibers and by removing after a time sufficient to loosen and solubilize the dirt thereon.
