ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A power amplifier includes a plurality of generally identical amplifier elements connected in parallel between input and output transmission lines for phase coherent addition of the signal outputs of each amplifier element. Resistive elements are connected across normally phase identical points on the transmission line. If the amplifier becomes electrically unbalanced, power is absorbed in the resistive elements, thus protecting the amplifier elements. -1-
