A power and free conveyor system wherein leading and trailing metallic trolleys an adapted to abut in operation and wherein one of the trolleys has a vertically movably retractable pusher dog which is movable vertically between as extended and vertical position. A first bumper is provided on one of the trolleys for engaging the other trolley upon abutting. A second bumper is provided to be engaged by the retractable pusher dog. Each of the bumpers is made of non-metallic material.
