A cable comprising coaxially, at least the following: a central conductor (1); insulation (3); a metal screen (5) coated with a plastics material on its face directed towards the core, thereby providing, inter alia, sealing against moisture; and a protective sheath (6). Also, the plastics material is such that the metal screen (5) is intimately bonded to the underlying material of the insulation (3) or of any other additional layer (4) itself intimately bonded to the insulation. The plastics material may be semiconductive and cellular with closed cells.
