A roller for a motorized conveyor includes a side-mounted friction torque limiter for transmitting the rotational movement of a drive member to the roller. The friction torque limiter means has a first friction surface associated with the roller and a second friction surface associated with the drive means. The second friction surface is made of a material that is both metallic and magnetic. The first and second friction surfaces are applied one against the other by a magnetic field generated by permanent magnets. When the force needed to set the roller in motion is greater than the force of the friction between the first and second surfaces, the first and second surfaces slide relative to each other, which causes the rotational movement of the roller to stop. The drive means has ventilation grooves, ensuring cooling of the friction surfaces.
Un rouleau pour convoyeur motorisé comporte un mécanisme de limitation de couple à friction latérale pour transmettre le mouvement rotatif d'un élément d'entraînement au rouleau. Le mécanisme de limitation de couple présente une première surface de friction associée au rouleau et une seconde surface de friction associée à l'élément d'entraînement. La seconde surface de friction est faite d'un matériau à la fois métallique et magnétique. Les première et seconde surfaces de friction sont appliquées l'une contre l'autre par un champ magnétique généré par des aimants permanents. Lorsque la force requise pour entraîner le rouleau en rotation est supérieure à la force de friction entre les première et seconde surfaces, il se produit un glissement relatif entre les première et seconde surfaces de friction, causant l'arrêt de la rotation du rouleau. L'élément d'entraînement présente des canaux de ventilation assurant le refroidissement des surfaces de friction.
