-16- Power Insertable Polyamide-Imide Coated Magnet Wire Abstract A magnet wire having a polyamide-imide outer coating is described which is capable of power inser- tion into coil slots in a locking wire size range by virtue of a specific lubricant outer coating. The external lubricant comprises a mixture of paraffin wax and hydrogenated tri-lyceride. An internal lubri- cant composition comprised of esters of fatty alcohols and fatty acids can be added to the polyamide-imide coatings to provide greater ease of insertability.
