ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An insole for an article of footwear, comprises an upper layer of shock absorbing material designed to conform to the bottom of a human foot. This upper layer has a plurality of holes formed therein at predetermined locations. An undercarriage has resilient pins protruding through these holes in the upper layer to align the undercarriage with the upper layer and apply localized pressure to the foot at said predetermined locations. The insole provides improved support and comfort to the wearer and can provide a massage effect by stimulating plantar aspect reflex points.
