In a power plug assembly which houses a plug 22 in such a manner as to be lifted up when required, the plug 22 is always biased in a direction to be housed due to a first resilient member 25. When the plug 22 is pivotally moved to some extent, first and second engagement parts 23, 31 are structured to engage with each other so that the plug 22 is retained in a state ready for plug-in to an AC outlet. When the plug 22 is pulled out from the AC outlet, a user may release the engagement parts 23, 31 so that the plug 22 is automatically housed in a space with the help of resilience of the first resilient member 25.
