A signal processor for use in a variety of power systems applications is disclosed. The function of the power signal processor of the present invention is to generate a number of monitoring and control signals based on a given three-phase input power line signal. Among numerous output signals gener- ated by the processor are fundamental components of three-phase power line signal and their values of amplitude, phase angle and frequency, total harmonic distortion, individual harmonic components, reactive currents, symmetrical components, and power factors. The fundamental building block of the present power signal processor is a newly introduced structurally-simple phase-locked loop which offers a high degree of noise and disturbance immunity and robustness. Flexibility of structure, useful in optimizing present power signal processor for various applications, is an important feature of the present invention.
