A power supply system particularly adapted for use with an electrostatic precipitator to provide substantially ripple-free DC power for improved precipitator operation. The power supply is adapted to receive three-phase AC power and to transform the AC power into high voltage DC power having a minimum of voltage ripple in the output. The power supply includes a multi- phase transformer having three primary windings, each of the primary windings having associated with it a pair of secondary windings. The primary windings can be either delta connected or wye connected. One of each of the secondary windings associated with one of the respective primary windings is connected together in a delta connection arrangement, and the remaining secondary windings are connected in a wye connection arrangement. Because the respective AC voltage outputs of each of the secondary windings are out of phase with the AC voltage outputs of the other secondary windings, the resultant combined DC output voltage, after the DC voltages have been rectified in a three-phase, full-wave bridge rectifier stack, which produces minimal ripple voltage and current, without requiring additional, more expensive, and less reliable components.
La présente invention concerne un système d'alimentation électrique particulièrement conçu pour une utilisation avec un dispositif de précipitation électrostatique. Ledit système fournit en effet un courant continu pratiquement dépourvu d'ondulations, ce qui améliore l'usage du dispositif de précipitation. L'alimentation accepte en entrée un courant alternatif triphasé et transforme ledit courant alternatif en courant continu haute tension ayant un taux d'ondulations de tension minimum en sortie. L'alimentation inclut un transformateur multiphase avec trois bobinages primaires, chacun desdits bobinages primaires étant associé avec une paire de bobinages secondaires. Les bobinages primaires peuvent être connectés aussi bien en delta qu'en étoile. Une unité de chacun des bobinages secondaires associés aux bobinages primaires correspondants est connectée selon une disposition en delta. Le reste des unités des bobinages secondaires est connecté en étoile. Le fait que la sortie alternative respective de chacun des bobinages secondaires est déphasée par rapport à la sortie alternative des autres bobinages secondaires produit une tension continue résultante combinée en sortie, après que les tensions continues ont été rectifiées dans une pile de redresseurs à pont triphasés pleine-onde, qui produit une tension et un courant ayant un minimum d'ondulations et évite l'utilisation de composants supplémentaires, plus onéreux et moins fiables.
