POWER SYRINGE WITH VOLUME REDUCING ADAPTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A syringe for a power injector has an adapter with engaging and gripping means for being secured to the machine grippable protrusion of a backer plate of the piston of the syringe. The rear end of the adapter has a machine grippable protrusion so that the syringe, having its volume reduced by the length of the adapter, can be utilized in a conventional power injection machine.
