A power take off assembly for a pavement saw includes an output shaft (82) from a motor, which extends from the endplate of the motor within a hollow, cylindrical, supporting element (110). At the end of the shaft, a pulley (112) is coupled such that the pulley rotates on the supporting element, supported by bearings (116, 118).
