ABSTRACT A power transmission device comprising: a first member and a second member which can rotate relative to one another; a scaled chamber formed between the two members with a viscous fluid filled in the chamber; a first plurality of resistance plates capable of rotating together with the first member, a second plurality of resistance plates capable of rotating together with the second member, said first and second plurality of resistance plates axially movably positioned to mutually approach one another in the sealed chamber to transmit power therebetween by means of the viscous resistance of the viscous fluid; and a coupling means provided to remove the differential in the resistance plates during rotation, utilizing the centrifugal force at the time of rotation.
