POWER TRANSMISSION MECHANISM, AND DEVICE UTILIZING SUCH MECHANISM Abstract A novel mechanical power coupling means selectively employ- able with either reciprocal or continuous drive inputs with the coupling means, which may be driven in a variety of speed/torque arrangements using the novel coupling means. The coupling means includes a plurality of wrapped spring clutches which automatically engages the lowest mechanical advantage arrangement capable of overcoming the load on the output shaft, or provides a ratcheting input, depending upon the spring winding directions.
