In a power unit for a motorcycle that includes an internal combustion engine having a crankcase rotatably supporting a crankshaft with an axis located on a split face between an upper case half body and a lower case half body and a continuously variable transmission having a belt, while it is enabled to use two types of respective different oils for an internal combustion engine and for a continuously variable transmission, the rigidity of the crankcase is enhanced. A crankcase is provided with a partition wall that separates between a crank chamber housing a crankshaft and a continuously variable transmission chamber housing a continuously variable transmission. An axial line of the crankshaft and respective axial lines of the drive pulley and the driven pulley are each located at a corresponding one of apexes of an imaginary triangle VT1 on a view projected on a plane perpendicular to the axial line of the crankshaft. An axial line of a downside-located pulley, of the respective axial lines of the drive pulley and the driven pulley, is located on the split face.

Groupe motopropulseur de moto comprenant un moteur à combustion interne doté d'un carter principal supportant un vilebrequin dont l'axe se trouve sur la surface entre la partie supérieure et la partie inférieure du carter, ainsi que d'une transmission à variation continue munie d'une courroie. L'invention permet l'utilisation de deux types d'huile pour un moteur à combustion interne et pour une transmission à variation continue, ce qui améliore la rigidité du carter principal. Le carter principal est doté d'une cloison qui sépare la chambre logeant le vilebrequin et la chambre logeant la transmission à variation continue. La ligne axiale du vilebrequin et les lignes axiales respectives de la poulie d'entraînement et de la poulie réceptrice forment les sommets d'un triangle imaginaire (VT1) selon une vue projetée sur un plan perpendiculaire à la ligne axiale du vilebrequin. Une ligne axiale d'une poulie se trouvant du côté inférieur des lignes axiales respectives de la poulie d'entraînement et de la poulie réceptrice est située sur la surface de séparation.
