ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an automatic camera having powered film advancing mechanism for advancing a strip of film having opposed side edges beyond an exposure location. Lens means for directing light onto a portion of said film at the exposure location are provided as are shutter means for closing off the admission of light to the film during its advancement. Sencing means responsive to the movement of the film are also provided and such means include a wheel which contacts a side edge of the film and which is rotatable thereby as the film advances. Additionally, control means are provided which are automatically actuated by the sensing means to stop the advancement of the film by the powered film advancing means when the film has been advanced a predetermined distance beyond the exposure location.
