ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drive coupling for a power operated folding support structure (10) which is pivoted between a horizontal use position and a vertical storage position by an electric drive mechanism (22). A drive coupling (80) operatively couples the arm (70) of the electric drive motor to the pivoting support frame (14). The drive coupling includes a friction plate (81) which is held between a pair of friction members (90, 91) secured by clamping members (100, 101). The frictional drive coupling transmits force from the drive motor to pivot the frame, but allows slippage in the event that an obstacle or excessive force is encountered while pivoting the frame.
