The invention encompasses a method for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease or condition in a mammalian patient in need of such treatment or prevention comprising administering to said patient a compound that is capable of simultaneously binding PPAR.alpha. and PPAR.gamma. or concomitantly administering a compound that selectively binds PPAR.alpha. with a compound that selectively binds PPAR.gamma. in an amount that is effective to treat or prevent the inflammatory disease or condition. The invention also encompasses a method for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease or condition in a mammalian patient in need of such treatment or prevention comprising administering to said patient a compound that is capable of simultaneously binding and activating PPAR.alpha. and PPAR.gamma. or concomitantly administering a compound that selectively binds and activates PPAR.alpha. with a compound that selectively binds and activates PPAR.gamma. in an amount that is effective to treat or prevent the inflammatory disease or condition.
L'invention concerne une méthode permettant de traiter ou de prévenir un trouble ou une maladie inflammatoire chez un patient mammalien nécessitant un tel traitement ou une telle prévention. Cette méthode consiste à administrer au patient un composé capable de lier simultanément PPAR.alpha. et PPAR.gamma. ou à administrer en même temps un composé liant sélectivement PPAR.alpha. à un composé qui se lie sélectivement à PPAR.gamma. dans une quantité efficace au traitement et à la prévention de la maladie ou du trouble. Cette invention a également pour objet une méthode traitement ou de prévention d'un trouble ou d'une maladie inflammatoire chez un patient mammalien nécessitant un tel traitement ou une telle prévention. Cette méthode consiste à administrer au patient un composé capable de lier simultanément PPAR.alpha. et PPAR.gamma. et de les activer ou à administrer en même temps un composé qui lie sélectivement PPAR.alpha. à un composé et l'active, ce dernier composé se liant à PPAR.alpha. et l'activant dans une quantité efficace au traitement ou à la prévention de la maladie ou du trouble inflammatoire.
