The present invention relates to a method of treating obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders in a mammal by administering to the mammal a pharmaceutical composition containing a compound that antagonizes the activity of PPAR.gamma. protein, or reduces the expression of PPAR.gamma. protein.
