In pre-cast slab gel cassettes, the formation of pathways in which proteins can migrate between the gel and the walls of the cassette to form shadow bands is avoided by including a nonionic amphiphilic polymer of molecular weight exceeding 100,000 in the monomer solution from which the gel is formed and casting the gel with the polymer included. The nonionic amphiphilic polymer also prevents the resulting gel from sticking to the walls when the gel is to be removed from the cassette after electrophoresis.
Selon l'invention, dans des cassettes de gels en plaques pré-coulés, on évite la formation de chemins dans lesquels les protéines peuvent migrer entre le gel et les parois de la cassette de façon à former des bandes sombres, en ajoutant un polymère non ionique amphiphile de poids moléculaire supérieur à 100 000 dans la solution monomère à partir de laquelle le gel est formé et en coulant le gel avec le polymère inclus. Le polymère non ionique amphiphile empêche également que le gel obtenu ne colle aux parois au moment de le retirer de la cassette après électrophorèse.
