A pre-connectorized fiber optic distribution cable assembly includes a plurality of optical fibers and at least one mid-span access location along the length of the distribution cable. At least one of the optical fibers is accessed, terminated and then connectorized at the mid-span access location to an optical connector disposed within a receptacle. The mid-span access location, the accessed, terminated and connectorized optical fiber, the optical connector and at least a portion of the receptacle are encapsulated with a protective overmolded shell. A tether including at least one optical fiber connectorized at a first end of the tether is optically connected to the optical connector through the receptacle. A second end of the tether opposite the first end terminates in a network optical connection terminal, thereby compensating for a span length measurement difference between the actual location of the mid-span access and the desired location of the optical connection terminal.
L'invention concerne un ensemble de câble de distribution optique de fibres connectables comprenant une pluralité de fibres optiques et au moins un emplacement d'accès médian sur la longueur du câble de distribution. Au moins l'une des fibres optiques est rendue accessible, terminée et rendue connectable à l'emplacement d'accès médian à un connecteur optique disposé dans un réceptacle. L'emplacement d'accès médian, la fibre optique rendue accessible, terminée et rendue connectable, le connecteur optique et au moins une portion du réceptacle sont encapsulés avec une coquille surmoulée de protection. Une amarre comprenant au moins une fibre optique rendue connectable à une première extrémité de l'amarre est connectée optiquement au connecteur optique par le biais du réceptacle. Une seconde extrémité de l'amarre en face de la première extrémité se termine dans une borne de connexion optique de réseau, compensant ainsi une différence de mesure de longueur de portée entre l'emplacement réel de l'accès médian et l'emplacement désiré de la borne de connexion optique.
