An electronic programmable thermostat having a plurality of program sets, each comprising a plurality of times and a corresponding plurality of temperatures is disclosed. To program the thermostat, the user merely selects a program set and the plurality of times and temperatures corresponding to the selected program set isprogrammed into the thermostat to control the heating and/or cooling systems controlled by the thermostat.
