PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'un métal ou alliage, consistant a lui ajouter, lorsqu'il est à l'état fondu, un adjuvant d'affinage, caractérisé en ce que l'adjuvant d'affinage est un alliage d'un métal choisi dans le groupe constitué par les métaux alcalino- terreux et le zinc, et d'un élément métallique en faibles proportions, mais susceptible de conférer à l'alliage un point de fusion sensiblement plus bas que celui du métal alcalino-terreux ou du zinc pur, et en ce que cet alliage se présente sous forme de granules. Ce procédé permet notamment le traitement des aciers, fonte et métaux non ferreux, à plus basse température et en réduisant fortement le bouillonnement.
