Abstract of the Disclosure Discloses an improved precipitation process for hydro- metallurgical process solutions wherein the precipitation of one precipitatable component in the presence of a nonprecipi- tatable component is carried out in two stages. In the first stage the bulk, but not all, of the precipitatable component is precipitated. The precipitate is then removed and a second precipitation is carried out to precipitate the balance of the precipitatable component. By operating in this way purer, less contaminated precipitates are obtained.
