A tube bending apparatus is provided for placing a plurality of bends in an elongated tube. The apparatus includes a position sensor for sensing at least one location on the tube for assessing the accuracy of the bends placed therein. The apparatus further includes a programmable bender having a bend die and a clamp die for securely engaging the tube and bending the tube through a selected degree of curvature. A collet assembly is operative to axially and rotationally position the tube for each sequential bend. A pressure die boost and a collet assembly are provided for exerting axial pressure on the tube to urge the tube into the bend. The amount of axial force is programmed and selectively controllable in response to sensed operating conditions. A lubricated mandrel is programmably operative to be placed inside the tube. The movement of the mandrel is programmable and the flow of lubrication therethrough is both programmable and condition responsive.
Appareil de cintrage de tubes servant à créer un certain nombre de coudes dans un tube allongé. Cet appareil comprend un capteur de position permettant de scruter au moins un secteur du tube afin de juger de la précision des coudes qui y ont été réalisés. Cet appareil comprend également une cintreuse programmable munie d'un outil de pliage et d'un outil de serrage s'engageant solidement avec le tube pour le plier suivant l'angle de courbure choisi. Un dispositif de serrage permet de mettre le tube en position en l'orientant comme il convient par rapport au sens axial et à son angle de rotation pour chaque coude successivement réalisé. On fournit une pression supplémentaire dans l'outil de pliage et un dispositif de serrage pour exercer une pression axiale sur le tube et l'obliger à former ainsi un coude. Il est possible de programmer et de régler sélectivement la puissance de cette force axiale d'après les conditions de fonctionnement captées. Un mandrin lubrifié, placé dans le tube, fonctionne de manière programmable. Son mouvement est en effet programmable et la circulation de lubrifiant dans le tube est à la fois programmable et sensible à l'état.
