A multi-hole cooled combustor liner (12, 14) s provided which reduces hot streaks and associated material distress in the liner (12, 14). Areas of increased cooling hole (44) density are disposed upstream of the primary dilution holes (48) and in circumferential alignment with fuel cup centers (82). Additional cooling holes (44) are provided in between primary dilution holes (48) are arranged in alternating pairs of circumferentially angled holes (44) so as to provide a converging cooling air flow in the downstream direction.
