A method of making a plastic container having a body and a finish with at least one external thread includes providing a plastic preform (24) having a body (26) and a neck (28) and blow molding the body of the preform to form the body (12) of the container. Either prior to or subsequent to blow molding the container body, the preform neck is radially and circumferentially expanded. A finish ring (14) having at least one external thread (16) is secured to the external surface of the neck after expansion of the neck.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un récipient en plastique présentant un corps et une bague pourvue d'au moins un filetage extérieur. Ce procédé consiste à former une préforme en plastique (24) présentant un corps (26) et un goulot (28) puis à mouler par soufflage le corps de la préforme afin de former le corps (12) du récipient. Avant ou après le moulage par soufflage du corps du récipient, le goulot de la préforme est expansé radialement et circonférentiellement. Une bague (14), pourvue d'au moins un filetage extérieur (16), est ensuite fixée sur la surface extérieure du goulot après l'expansion de ce dernier.
