ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A preheat oven for glass containers to be used in a labelling situation where heated bottles are required. The containers are heated by flame impingement directly on the containers as they are moved through an enclosure on an open mesh conveyor. The flames may be shut down as desired, as well as stopping the conveyor, and the containers may remain positioned within the oven enclosure without fear of damage to the containers.
