Iminodisuccinic acid alkaline salts can be prepared by reacting maleic acid anhydride (MAA), alkali metal hydroxide (MeOH), NH3 and water in a molar ratio of MAA : MeOH : NH3 : H2O = 2 : 0.1 - 4 : 1.1 - 6.5 : 5 - 30 at 70 - 170 °C and 1 - 80 bar for 0.1 --100 hours. The reaction mixture is mixed with additional H2O and optionally MeOH and is freed distillatively of NH3 at 50-170°C and 0.1-50 bar and then set at a solids content of 5 - 60 weight % using H2O. The iminodisuccinic acid alkaline salts can be used to increase the brightness and brilliance of plant fibres in paper manufacture.

Des sels alcalins d'acide iminodisuccinique peuvent être obtenus par réaction d'anhydride d'acide maléique (AAM), d'hydroxyde de métal alcalin (MeOH), de NH3 et d'eau dans un rapport molaire de MSA : MeOH : NH3 : H2O = 2 : 0,1-4 : 1,1-6,5 : 5-30 à une température comprise entre 70 et 170 DEG C, à une pression comprise entre 1 et 80 bar et en une durée comprise entre 0,1 et 100 heures. Le mélange réactionnel est mélangé avec de l'H2O supplémentaire et éventuellement MeOH et est libéré de NH3 par voie distillative à une température comprise entre 50 et 170 DEG C et à une pression comprise entre 0,1 et 50 bar, puis est ajusté avec de l'H2O à une teneur en solides allant de 5 à 60 % en poids. Ces sels alcalins d'acide iminodisuccinique peuvent s'utiliser pour augmenter le degré de blanc et la blancheur de fibres végétales lors de la fabrication de papier.
