ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel N-aminoalkyl-1H-azole-1-acetamides useful for treating cardiac arrhythmias in mammals are disclosed. The azoleacetamides have the formula: Image (I) (wherein Az is a substituted pyrazolyl group of the formula: Image (Az-a), or a substituted imidazolyl group of the formula: Image (Az-b) ; R1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, provided that R1 is hydrogen when Az is the substituted imidazolyl group (Az-b); A is CH2CH(OH)CH2 or (CH2)n [wherein n is an integer of from 2 to 8], provided that A is (CH2)n when Az is the sub- stituted pyrazolyl group (Az-a); R2 and R3 are independently hydrogen, lower-alkyl or hydroxy,lower-alkyl; or R2 and R3 together form a straight or branched alky- lene chain of 4 to 6 carbons; R4 is hydrogen, hydroxy, lower-alkyl, lower-alkoxy, lower-alkylamino, lower-alkylamido; lower-alkylsulfonamido, nitro, amino, cyano or halo; and R5 and R6 are independently hydrogen, hydroxy, lower- alkyl, lower-alkoxy, nitro or halo).
