PREPARATION OF 4-FLUOROPHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE Abstract of the Disclosure 4-Fluorophthalic anhydride can be prepared by reacting potassium fluoride with 4-nitrophthalic anhydride. The use of solvents can increase the rate of reactivity and reduce the temperature at which reaction takes place. The more reactive 4-fluorophthalic anhydride can be used to make BPA-dianhydride employed in the production of polyetherimides.
