ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for the preparation of 6,7-dialkoxy-4-oxyquinoline-3-carboxyl acid-esters of the general formula: Image (I) wherein R1 stands for a C1-4 alkyl group, R2 stands for an alkenyl or alkyl group, containing 3-12 carbon atoms, and R3 stands for a C1-4 alkyl or phenyl-C1-4 alkyl group, which comprises alkylating a compound of the general formula II: Image (II) wherein R1 and R3 are as defined above.
