A process for producing salts of 3-isopropyl-2,1,3- benzothiadiazine-4-on-2,2-dioxide of general formula (I) (R1-R4 - H, lower alkyl, lower hydroxyalkyl) by reacting bentazone (IIa) in an organic solvent with an amine (IIIa), reacting bentazone (IIa) in an organic solvent virtually immiscible with water with an amine (IIIa) or an ammonium salt (IIIb) and taking salt (I) up in water or reacting bentazone (IIa) with an ammonium salt (IIIb) or sodium bentazone (IIb) with an ammonium salt (IIIc) in water.

Procédé de fabrication de sels de 3-isopropyl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazine-4-one-2,2-dioxyde, de formule générale (I) (dans laquelle R<1>-R<4> = H, alkyle inférieur, hydroxyalkyle inférieur), consistant à faire réagir la bentazone (IIa), dans un solvant organique, avec une amine (IIIa), à faire réagir la bentazone (IIa), dans un solvant organique pratiquement non miscible à l'eau, avec une amine (IIIa) ou avec un sel d'ammonium (IIIb) et à reprendre le sel (I) par l'eau, ou à faire réagir, dans l'eau, la bentazone (IIa) avec un sel d'ammonium (IIIb), ou la bentazone sel de sodium (IIb) avec un sel d'ammonium.
