ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is disclosed for the production of aqueous solutions having a high concentration e.g. 30-50% by wt. of anionic, sulfonic acid group-containing melamine-formaldehyde condensation products. The process is a multistage condensation carried out at different pH values and under other specified conditions, isolation of intermediate products being unnecessary. The solutions are useful in a number of fields, particularly construction materials, and provide considerable economic advantages.
