O.Z.0050/40733 Abstract of the Disclosure: Aqueous solutions of N- methylol compounds of carboxamides, urethanes, ureas and aminotriazines or of N-methylol ethers of these compounds that are suitable for finishing cellulose-containing textile materials are prepared by reaction of compounds having one or more N-H groups in aqueous solution with formaldehyde and, in the case of N-methylol ethers, with an alcohol by adding boron trifluoride, a boron tri- fluoride addition compound or tetrafluoroboric acid or a salt thereof to the aqueous solutions during or immed- iately after the reaction.
