P R E C I S L'invention se rapporte à un procédé pour la prépa- ration d'une solution de sulfate et/ou de chlorure de magne- sium à partir d'une solution d'acides usés contenant de l'acide sulfurique et/ou chlorhydrique caractérisé en ce que: a) l'on neutralise une solution aqueuse d'acide sulfurique et/ou d'acide chlorhydrique usés par l'addition d'un minéral contenant de l'oxyde de magnésium actif jusqu'à ce que le pH atteigne environ 7.0 et b) l'on filtre et l'on récupère une solution substantiellement pure contenant du sulfate et/ou chlorure de magnésium.
