ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Diglycolic acid is prepared by oxidation of p- dioxanone with an oxidizing agent selected from HNO3, NO2, N2, O3, N2O4, N2O5, and mixture thereof. The oxidation can be accomplished with less than half the quantity. nitric acid required for oxidation of diethylene glycol previously employed.
