Abstract of the Disclosure Methods and apparatus are disclosed for producing frozen raw battered food products by first applying a coating of the raw batter to the outside of the food product, and then depositing the coated product on a layer of carbon dioxide snow, in a relation causing the batter while still uncooked to set to a non-flowing condition by reduction in temperature of the batter while it is contacted and supported by the layer of carbon dioxide snow.
