A method of preparing polyphosphazene microspheres wherein the polyphosphazene microspheres are produced by coacervation. In one embodiment, a solution containing a polyphosphazene is admixed with a dehydration agent, such as a solution containing a salt of a monovalent ion such as a salt of a Group I element (such as, for example, NaCl) to form a dispersion containing polyphosphazene coacervate microdroplets. The dispersion then is admixed with a solution containing a salt of a multivalent ion, such as a salt of a Group II element (such as, for example, CaCl2) to form a suspension of polyphosphazene microspheres. The polyphosphazene microspheres then are recovered from the suspension. Such method enables one to obtain high yields of microspheres having a controlled size distribution.
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation par coacervation de microsphères de polyphosphazène. Dans un mode de réalisation, une solution contenant un polyphosphazène est mélangée avec un agent de déshydratation, telle qu'une solution contenant un sel d'un ion monovalent tel qu'un sel d'un élément du groupe I (tel que NaCl) afin de former une dispersion contenant des microgouttelettes d'un coacervat de polyphosphazène. La dispersion est ensuite mélangée à une solution contenant un sel d'un ion multivalent tel qu'un sel d'un élément du groupe II (tel que CaCl2) pour former une suspension de microsphères de polyphosphazène. Les microsphères de polyphosphazène sont ensuite récupérées de la suspension. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir des rendements élevés de production de microsphères dont la répartition des dimensions est contrôlée.
